Andy Murray won his third round match in four sets at the French Open on Friday. The fourth seed defeated Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis in two hours and 33 minutes.
Murray won the first two sets, 6-2, 6-3, before Baghdatis, the 25th seed, responded in the third, taking it by six games to love. However, the British number one wrapped up his victory in the fourth set, winning it by six games to two.
Baghdatis is a former world number eight, Wimbledon semifinalist and Australian Open finalist. He suffered injury problems in 2008, most notably a stress fracture in his right wrist, which kept him away from the Tour for two months.
During this time, his ranking dropped significantly, but he has now climbed back to number 30 in the world.
Murray's fourth round opponent will be the 15th seed Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic, after he overcame the 17th seed, John Isner of the USA, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1.
